Welcome to the the Korban Laboratory. We are interested in studying gene
expression and regulation, especially of those genes involved in disease
resistance, flowering, and fruiting as well as those genes that either
enhance and/or add new value to plants. We are involved in projects
dealing with apple functional genomics, plant-based oral vaccines, DNA
methylation and gene silencing, ethylene response, and phytoremediation,
among other areas. We work with model plant systems, Arabidopsis and
tobacco, as well as with crop systems, including apple, soybean, tomato,
rose, indian mustard, and snapdragon. Additional information on these
